Franca Sozzani, director of Vogue Italia and L’uomo Vogue, will be awarded the Swarovski Fashion Award For Positive Change at this year’s Fashion Awards. The ceremony will take place at the Royal Albert Hall in London, on December 5.

According to the British Fashion Council, the award has been recently created to recognize “individuals who promote the welfare of others by the generous donation of their resources in order to achieve change and positive impact to good causes.”.

Franca Sozzani has been recognized for her dedication to diversity and for having used her influence to positively change the world.

Her endless effort to fundraising in favor of charitable associations at the national and international level helped a great number of causes.

In fact she will be awarded for her effort as Global Ambassador against Famine in relation to the World Food Program of the United Nations, for her collaboration with Convivio in the struggle to defeat HIV and for her support to the European Institute of Oncology for the prevention and diagnosis of oncological diseases.

Nadja Swarovski, member of  Swarovski Executive Board, stated: “Franca is an extraordinary woman and this award is the perfect celebration of her commitment, both inside and outside the fashion world.”.

Natalie Massenet, BFC chairman, added: “Words cannot express the huge admiration and respect I have for her and her work. She exemplifies those qualities this award has been created to honor, and her tireless commitment to the causes she cares so passionately about is a great example to us all. The positive impact she has had on the fashion and global communities will be felt for generations to come.”

Good quality people are few and we are very proud to have in Italy someone like Franca Sozzani, who has always used her position to benefit the world as a whole and try to make a difference.

Thank you Franca for representing in the world the good side of our country.
