I always say that New York City is the place to be during the holidays. Americans know how to decorate and Manhattan is the highest example of their ability to make everything shining, sparkling, huge, sparing no expense. All the little lights I talked about a few articles ago are multiplied, the whole city is a huge nest full of singing fireflies dancing on the notes of “It’s the most wonderful time of the year”. Walking on those streets is simply mesmerizing, it’s like we’re immersing ourselves in a Christmas overwhelming fairytale. I personally just love it!

Last year I guided you in a tour through the best Christmas windows on the 5th avenue in “10 blocks of Christmas”. This year you won’t need a few pictures of mine or any magical description of the most famous windows in the world. If you’re just a little too far to just take a walk on the Fifth Ave or you just want to avoid the crowd of tourists taking pictures every half second, once again technology comes in handy!

windowssaks2This year Santa-Google read my mind and decided to give everybody the chance to admire the best windows displays in New York with its new Winter Wonderland.

Comfortably sitting on your sofa you will be able to take a stroll in front of Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor, Tiffany & Co., Henri Bendel, Cartier, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Macys, Barneys New York, Burberry, Fendi, ABC Carpet & Home, American Girl, Louis Vuitton, Tori Burch and, of course, Saks Fifth Avenue. You’ll have a 360 degrees view and an audioguide to give you a full access to the details without having to wait for people to move, thanks to the high resolution photos of every single window and it’ll feel like you really are in front of them if you use a virtual reality headset. After all these works of art deserve to be shown to receive the world’s applause.

Honestly, someone should’ve thought about it earlier, but as usual, better late than never! Maybe next year the list will be longer and I wouldn’t mind (actually I would very much appreciate) a sneak peek on the inside of the stores as well, most of them let their visual merchandiser get even more creative indoor.

We’ll see.

In the meantime you Christmas lovers please enjoy this generous and completely free gift from Santa-Google, it looks like we all were on the “Good” list this year!
